I go on extended vanCamper trips seasonally in various parts of the USA (Northern states in the summer, Southern states in the winter). Mountain biking is my main outdoor activity during these trips. I also love downhilling (rode several downhill bike parks in the mountains of california, colorado and new mexico this past summer).
Riding solo gets tiresome after awhile, so I try to hook up with groups when i can. I am interested in hearing about good mountain bike groups in your particular city/area (within the USA, that is), so that i could possibly tag along and make new friends.
Thanks.

NEMBA (New England mountain bike association) and VMBA (Vermont mountain bike association) are both great groups to look into when you hit the northeast.
If you’re in Southwest Montana, local shops and our trail org do group rides throughout the week!
Pisgha SORBA!
AMBC Tennessee.
If you find yourself passing through eastern Nebraska/Western Iowa look up THOR. Really great group of folks that ride surprisingly fun trail systems (Platte River State Park, Lewis and Clark Monument, etc).
My wife and I did something similar a few years back. We found two things to be really helpful.
1. Check in with local bike shops. Many times they will put on group rides – or will point you in the right direction. We met friends we still keep in touch with this way – some of whom were also living nomadically. We found ourselves meeting up with these same friends in different corners of the continent!
2. Facebook groups. This is like the one thing facebook is still good for. Get to a local zone you want to ride and ask for beta about trails. Ask about local culture and how to respect it – things like conditions and how long to wait after a rain event to ride, etc. Most times, a friendly user will ask if you’d like to meet up for a ride. If not – just ask.
typing this out makes me miss my time on the road! Enjoy it bud. it’s the best life i can imagine.
