About Kitzbüheler Horn – the Austrian Beast
This is a beast of a climb. Incredible steep and revered by most Austrian riders. The official climb takes the panorama route and stops at the ‘Alpenhaus’ around 1675 meters, but an unofficial route continues up to the radio tower and the very top of Kitzbüheler Horn (almost 2000 meters). If you like the scenery on the official route, then you will be blown away by the scenery on the last segment. Even for professionals, this ride is difficult and the story on local bars goes that pro riders who tackled this climb in the Tour of Austria wept like children for spectators to push them uphill. To quote former Team Sky’s Austrian rider Bernard Eisel ‘It starts off bad and then gets worse and worse all the way up… It’s bloody horrible.’.(cyclist.co.uk).

Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is awesome. But when it comes to music opinions are very mixed. This is why we have not added any music and why we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute YouTube and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc…) and pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride… The original sound of the ride has been left out. This is because the natural sound of the surroundings is drowned by noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider’s breathing.

WOW, thank you so much for taking all of us South Africans on this beautiful mountain, although vertical for the last 20 minutes. I love the cattle grazing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Somebody has some serious quads! Thanks for sharing your ride with us!
What a great climb to have 'in your back garden'. Great workout and great views to take your mind off the pain. Thanks for sharing the experience.
Lucky you . What a great experience to cicle in this wonderful landscape.
Properly tough.
Camera on helmet (after Alpenhaus) is not optimal. Looks like jogging. Try to mount it on the frame (top tube near stem) in proper height. This allows for best stability and constant viewing angles.
Hi, is it legal to ride a bike from Alpenhaus? I saw to crossed No entry sign. I would like to climb it to the top on vacation. Thanks
