yep. Had to put those multiple times on Bianchi’s carbon wheelsets

It cannot be said nicely. They are a bitch to get on and I don’t envy the guy who will need to replace the tube mid ride

Unless the skin walls are different than the regular black walled tires they usually go on without any tools at all

  3. I just tossed some tubed and used (read: *should* be easier)28c Panaracer Paselas on an OG matrix rim that was era correct for an early ‘90s Trek 420 and boy howdy was that worse than most tubeless setups I’ve done.

But my biggest headaches in tubeless land were the Challenge Baby Limus/Grifo or on a first gen Fat Boy to get a Non-tubeless rim converted à la fatty strippers.

Some Maxxis DHF/DHR with Double Down casings + Cush cores gave a decent fight but all the above were harder and those took me bout a half hour to swap.

  4. I find on these higher end rubles road tires you have to use the center channel to fit them, it’s not optional like on other tires. The rim has a dip in the middle to allow for the tire bead to have some slack, on most tires it does matter. If you do that they can go on without too much of a fight.

  5. Teravail Telegraph. Literally broke a Pedros tyre lever, y’know how tough a tyre has to be to break a Pedros lever?! Insane.

  6. i don’t remember what they were exactly anymore, but six people in my shop took turns trying to fit a set of MTB tires to the rims of a diamondback ebike before we gave up. we broke three tire levers, and sealant was everywhere. these were not inexperienced mechanics either.

  7. Looks like a bad install to me, I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to put the tire on the wheel.

/S the rim has a big impact as well. Recently I had a weird experience where I installed 2 of the exact same model tire on 2 of the exact same model rim. 1 took me an hour, the other took me 15 minutes. 🤷‍♀️

  8. I have these and they are a a NIGHTMARE to get the first bead on, and equally as painful to get the first bead off. But I did find them very easy to actually get the final bead on

Yup. I had to break 2 tire levers to mount them on hunt 35 wheelset.
They only loose about 0.2 / 0.3 bar per week when run tubeless.

I’d give 100$ to anyone who can mount them on carbon rims using just their bare hands.
I should count as one of Hercules 12 labors.
