  1. Deaf people have a better understanding of things like classifiers, signer’s perspective, and how facial expressions contribute to grammar, which results in a more immersive interpretation. Hearing people or very beginning signers tend to think interpreting is just turning every English word into a sign but in reality it’s so much more than that!!

  2. I m hard of hearing since birth and at 28 yo am almost totally deaf and cant wear hearing aids due to how progressed my chronic otitis media is. (Its fine I prefer my quiet world lol) im watching how Deaf people sign and trying to mimic that. Ive taken two asl courses on skillshare and the rest is from Bill vicars, tiktok lives of Deaf people talking with voice off, and my interpreters over the years. (Sign pse , learned as an adult. Grew up knowing i was deaf but with no access to hearing aids (even when I could wear them before it progressed this bad) nor the deaf community or asl. My kids are codas and its sign language in my house as a form of communication. Your vids are very inspiring. ❤)

  3. Why are some ppl being kinda rude. The 'hearing' is actually trying and is clearly proud of herself. She's obvi not gonna be like the most experienced person who did great btw. So don't discourage her

  4. I am hearing and i've been learning ASL for a couple of years and I can tell you the hearing girl here signs way better than i've been able to. I'm still so stiff

  5. I'm sorry but why does the difference matter, the hearing girl just looks happy she learned how to sign this song, while the deaf side is just doing it with more sadness and emotion, why does it matter??

  6. One of my profs once worked at a school for the deaf. She has a very strong way of speaking, she said her students got scared of her at first because the interpretor was signing her as if she was mad to get her tone across 😂
