I use toopre but cheaper one without meter. It’s a direct copy of parktool TM-1 and very accurate. it’s very sample mechanism just few screws and springs . you can’t get it wrong.

  2. I wouldn’t buy any Toopre tools that have moving parts. I have some of their valve core removers (just a simple piece of aluminum) and they stink and strip easily.

  3. I have one like that—basically the same, just with different labeling.
For absolute measurements, it’s completely unreliable; I have a calibration device, and this unit fails to reproduce the same readings consistently.
For relative measurements, however, it is usable—within a single wheel, it can compare tension between spokes.
The best value for money is simply the TM-1.
For those who want truly accurate measurements, go for a Jobst Brandt–type spoke tension meter; unbeatable.

  4. Even if they are improperly calibrated, you can make sure all spokes have an even tension just by the reading alone, so they are more than suitable for its purpose

  5. I have a ZTTO one with a conversion chart and it works fine. I can’t speak for it’s accuracy compared to a TM-1 but it does the job for the wheels I build for myself
