Thoughts on this? I just received a 2023 Neuron AL from Buycycle. Seller sent pictures before shipping and it was perfect. I received the bike yesterday and this gouge was at the top of the rear triangle by the rear shock. Buycycle wants to offer me €150 to keep it.
Does this appear structural?

Sheesh. Good luck
Hell nah
They should offer you whatever it costs to replace the rear triangle. Unacceptable imo. Clearly wasn’t packaged well
What did the box look like? This is crazy damage. Definitely doesn’t look like riding damage. Would not accept this in any way.
That looks fucked. Send it back.
Nah man, if thats shipping damage they need to lodge an insurance claim with the shipping company and sort you out with a new undamaged frame
Contact Canyon and ask how much a replacement seat stay (upper) linkage would cost. That’s more than superficial damage, IMO.
Are we sure it’s the same bike? Is the bike in the damaged photo even blue? But no, that’s not acceptable and the damage is worth more than €150.
Send. It. Back.
Seems that 150 would be ~12% of what you paid. Ugh … not sure that’s enough.
Structural? Was it from the cassette rubbing on the forks in transit. How deep are the gouges near the rear – one of those near the back looks quite deep but difficult to tell.
As I understand the terms of buycycle you have the right to return it. So sorry this is happening to you … I think this is a personal decision.
Everyone is up in arms acting like it’s wrecked, so I’ll offer the contrarian point of view: it looks like surface scratches on aluminum alloy, like the kind seen on countless mountain bike drive-side chainstays that continue to see years of service, unaffected. My guess is some other part was rubbing it inside the box during transport, like the hub or disc of the front wheel. You could just sand it and repaint it for not much money, or leave it and have an extra 150 euros. Either way, I don’t think anyone can look at that picture alone and credibly claim it’s more than lost paint and scratched metal. Mountain bikes are built to take some damage.
$150 is not enough to get you riding safely. This part needs to be replaced or sent to a carbon repair specialist.
If an impact did this to the rear triangle in transit, I’d be VERY suspicious of the rest of the bike. Not worth the trouble IMO, I’d send it back.
wth, did godzilla attack the shipment or what?
that’s doesn’t seem to be a 2023 color way, that [blue is a 22.](https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Bikes,3/Canyon/Neuron-6,35826)
Looks like it was hit by a forklift, definitely structural integrity issues
