  1. I prefer my phone safely tucked away from the rain and possible crashes. That’s just me, I have a garmin on my bars with a tether.

  2. I use my peak design case every day when I ride, I mostly know my way around town but it’s nice to have it there on the bars, and the peakdesign system is way easier to use than quad lock

Interested too. Trying to minimize the amount of shit I need to tote around with me. It’s Garmin+HR Strap+Varia+headlight+phone+apple watch or Phone+apple watch+Headlight+Varia. I need that varia display.

Have been using a Rokform for 6 years without issue. The camera *issue* is more prevalent on motorcycles.

    Quad Lock is fantastic.

I’ve used it on my daily commuter. I put it on my MTB. Zero issues ever. I have used their cases and even the little adapter with the 3M sticky on my own cases.

I think I bought my first one in 2012 and equip all my bikes with them.

  6. I like my quad lock. I have 3 I use on different bikes. Never experienced any issues with my Pixel 8 phone camera post rides, but have not used it on mountain bikes, just some gravel rides and commuting for the past 2 years.

Yeah, my iPhone 14 Pro stopped focusing correctly and I had to get it repaired. It was under either the original warranty or Apple Care at the time so they covered it. The guy at the Apple Store asked me if I biked when he saw what the issue was so I don’t think it’s uncommon.

Your risk level probably depends on the phone. It’s optical image stabilization that gets wrecked by vibration and not every phone has it, plus I think some of the newer ones are more resilient.

Look at Peak Design guys, it’s an incredible phone case & bike mounting system.

    …seriously good!

I had a quadlock and used my phone as a bike computer – this was an S20. It (after a few thousand miles) broke the physical zooming mechanism of the main camera. I could put it Pro photo mode and see the point where the focus stopped working.

They have vibration mounts now though that reduce the vibration to the phone?
