This is a UN300 cartridge BB. The drive side went in easily, and the non-drive side started easily, then got more difficult right around the point in the picture. Is this just due to the blue thread locker that came pre-applied?
I've checked and it's not cross-threaded, but I don't want to cause any damage by applying too much force just to get this screwed in.

Yes it gets harder. As long as it is the right size and isn’t cross threaded like you said just keep going.
You could play it safe and have the threads chased by someone with frame prep tools
From the look of it, cross threaded. I generally just repeat turning them out then in till they go in right. Just don’t force it.
In this case, you need to install the nds first.
Drive it home
Keep going my guy. Don’t get scared.
Hmm I’m not used to seeing that outer raised lip on the non driveside. Did that come with the rest of the BB or did you pull it out of a parts bin?
You need to put some grease on the threads both inside and on the BB but yes keep driving it
The fixed distance cup is usually on the drive side. I’m fearing the worst on this one.
If you think it’s the thread-locking compound, I suggest you remove it, clean off all the thread-lock , then grease it and try again.
If it goes all the way, then you can unscrew a few threads, clean the grease and reapply fresh thread-locking solution, and screw it back.
Adding some grease to those threads and inside the cup (where it’s rotating on the internal cartridge) can make this go maybe 30% easier. Even then, this is very commonly a hard go due to the threadlock and interference fit inside the cup….
Add grease, double check that it’s not cross-threaded (hard to tell from the photo angle), and keep going!
