Who knows about the OVUM chainring for Vintage Roadbikes?

Hello Reddits,

While checking out my vintage bike stuff i rediscovered this obscure vintage chainring called OVUM. Its a very early attempt of eliptical chainrings, probably 60s or 70s. The predecessor to Biopace and all the modern follow ups. I got it from Bert Boom (dutch trackracer Worldchampion) who worked for Lokomotief and Gazelle in the 70s and 80s.

Does anybody know anything about these rings? Whats the Story behind these? Any Input is Welcome.
