Hi all, how are you doing?
So I have been facing an issue lately after about 1h ride with my '95 mtb, which has a very forward riding position.
My eyes get together and I can't see well and have to stop for 20minutes to adjust my eye sight. It's really annoying as it stops me to ride more and for longer.
I think it's because my eyes are looking through the wrong part of my glasses (the top part) and it compromises my eye sight. Anyone has any suggestion for this? I don't wear contact lenses.
I wouldn't want to change my riding position as I love being a bit more aggressive and feel faster.
My bike for reference.
Thank you!!

  1. I would say the best thing is to change torture riding position, which you don’t want to do. But that would be the solution to your glasses problem. Try a shorter stem.

Mtn bike aren’t as aggressive as road bikes, mtb’s put you in a more upright position compared to the leaning forward aggressive position of a road bike. You might think you feel or look faster when you’re really not.

  2. Very good question, indeed. Another option, I’ve never heard of, would be to buy a second pair of prescription glasses only for riding, but have the optician measure the focal point (the “center”) while you’re on your bike. If you do this, we’ll need photos of the process 🙂

  3. Are your glasses slipping down on your nose? Something like this happens when I ride with my regular glasses. They are much too loose and slippery when sweating. I also have perscription cycling glasses that stay on much better and I don’t have any issues.

You could have your frames adjusted slightly to have them sit higher on your face or invest in physically larger lensed glasses or sports glasses that stay on better.
