I have a gravel bike with mtb tires and rockshox stem+post. Basically it,s and old school mtb but better and it’s a beast.
Currently i am using a carbon Aero dropbar from my road bike and i am considering upgrading it to a dropbar with flare or this weird
Dropbar from picture. I saw some folks use it in gravel Racing but i am not sure why it is shaped like that and What’s the advantage here

That loop is used by Redshift and Canyon for a bag that goes inside of it.
Canyon also has Aero bars that mount onto the loop and frankly, it simply allows for less clutter in the “main” part of the bar. You could for example, mount the lights at the front of the loop and leave space for your hands in the back.
It fits a bar bag, lights, gps, phone mount and rubber-ducky with a propeller hat squeeky passing alarm.
I use the redshift version of this.
The loop adds an extra hand position similar to aero bars or “inner bar ends”. It’s nice when I’m on smooth trail or road heading into the wind.
I have my Garmin on a mount inside the loop, and my light under the computer. The loop adds protection for my light/ CPU from branches and crashes.
You can also get a little bag that goes inside the loop. Handy for snacks and the vape pen (no combustion in the woods, only you can prevent forest fires)
Farr had the original version of this and it’s a bit cheaper in the UK it’s the Farr Aero GRVL. I got one years ago and still use them to just help me move around the bike a bit more as I get shoulder pain after prolonged periods due to dislocating my shoulders many years ago. Farr or Redshift these are a great comfort addition.
I want an insert in the middle section for my chips and guac.
Have always liked the Redshfit Kitchen Sink bar with Loop but it limits your choices so much when bikepacking.
If you have no interest in bikepacking then it’s the perfect bar imo
You will definitely feel the difference going back to alloy from carbon.
I am in a bit of the same dilemma wanting to downsize my bars, and get something with a shallower drop.
All the carbon bars that fit my specs are super expensive.
As far as that bar you posted I would skip it unless you have a plan for what to put there. They look pretty goofy in person.
