I have one. The 2014 had a fork recall.

Very good bikes. They take 28mm tyres no problem which is a game changer. Very light and reactive. Was billed as an endurance bike but not endurance by today’s standard. Pro level bike in the day (still is). Ridden at Roubaix.

Where you live and where you ride determines whether rim or disc but rim should always be the starting point as it’s best for road bikes and you get way more bang for your buck.

  2. Rim brakes were good for the last ~100 years, but you can take my hydro brakes from my cold dead hands.

  3. At this price point, I’d be looking more at disc brake bikes. But it doesn’t rain a ton in Northern California so rim brakes are great here.

I had a 2016 Bianchi Intenso Veloce (10 sp Campag). That’s the nonCV version of this bike, with a lesser group set than this. The rim brakes were fine in my area of short, steep hills . But, I didn’t ride it in the rain. That frame is fantastic and without disc brakes it’s lighter in weight. Make sure you’re OK with the gearing. Mine was a 50-34, paired with an 11-27 cassette, which isn’t low enough for me to climb for hours
