Yes, and thats the very same reason why modern bb like hollowtech/dub seat nearly flush with the cranks. To keep that exact same chainline. Also external bearings spread the load better (last longer under load), and imo easier to service too.

Your BB spindle length is too wide, may affect Q-factor (your leg spread wider). If you’re not looking for perfection then its rideable. You can replace BB with narrow spindle width next time.
