I’m 5’10” 165 lbs in size large, should I try XL?
The sleeves are an unpleasant fabric and very tight (cutting off circulation to my arm) so I won’t be keeping it. I was excited to try Maap but surprised how uncomfortable the sleeves are. I don’t know the garment’s name for this one, are their other jerseys better?

I don’t have recommendations for other brands but no, don’t size up. If anything you should be sizing down with all that extra fabric around your waist.
Maybe try a Medium in something that’s not race fit?
Looks like the correct size to me.
That jersey doesn’t seem right. The arms do look uncomfortably tight compared to a somewhat baggy torso.
Is that a MAAP?
This is too big. Don’t go larger, it needs to be smaller.
It sounds like race cut is the issue. Look for something “club fit” instead
Not MAAP.
The grippers on the shorts looking like bacon indicate a poor fit.
That’s the Pro Air range (ie race fit which is tighter on the body).
I’m the same height, 170 lbs. I couldn’t even get my biceps (muscular/athletic build) into a size large for that jersey from MAAP. I had to size up to XL. The normal training range from MAAP I’m a large.
If you get wrinkles around the waist area, it’s a sign to possibly consider to size down. As when you’re hunched forward in a riding position, the jersey will bunch up more ( not ideal).
If the sleeves are tight then cut them off and send it. Tank tops are great on hot days.
