I’m getting into BMX and trying to find something used (market around me is limited -Canada). I’m 5’7” for reference. The dude selling said he’d take $275 for this, worth it or should I try to find something full chromoly?
I think you mean the Cult Control? The frame is 20.75, not 20” like the ad says. (Assuming it’s the control)
For 275 CDN I think that’s okay for a beginner. It’s in rough shape though.
Some things that stand out to me:
They replaced the original chromoly bars with whatever GT bars are on there now which is weird… which leaves the only “chromoly” on it being the front triangle of the frame. (We don’t know *what* GT bars they are)
It’s a single wall front rim and double rear – I’d prefer if both were double.
8 spline crank instead of a 48 spline. You are a beginner though, so the integrity here shouldn’t be a concern, but 8 spline may be considered beefier. They still have chromoly arms though.

I’m not sure what the prices are like on used over your side of the pond but cult is definitely a solid brand and you can always upgrade parts as you go. Just make sure everything is running right before you buy as you want to get riding straight away not replacing parts. Good Luck and happy riding dude

I’d recommend something with brakes for a beginner
