Hey y’all! Figured I’d show off my custom Souvenir Cycles Allroad while soliciting some advice on tire choice.

My buddy here in LA has been frame building for a bit under the name Souvenir Cycles and last year I worked with him to develop his first All-road/gravel bike and took it to Made 2024! The goal was to have a bike that balances LA’s riding that includes tons of road riding in order to get to chunky mountain passes and singletrack descents. Was originally intended to be more “all-road” leaning, but recently I’ve been wanting to push it harder off road and I’m building up a 650b wheelset to try going chunkier on the tires, most likely max 48/50mm clearance.

Any tire advice? Trying to find that balance between a fun knobby off-road tire that still feels good for lots of pavement miles. Most likely leaning towards Ultradynamicos pairing of Rose front w/ Cava rear – does anyone have any experience to share with how this combo rides on road? I hear very mixed opinions… thanks for your thoughts, cheers!

  1. Challenge getaway handmade would be a good fit. Super low rolling resistance but decent puncture protection and some knobs on the sidewall

  2. Love the skinny tubing and seatstay. Carbon fork on such frame styles looks a bit odd vs a nicely shaped steel, but there is the weight savings. Straight, narrow head tube looks good.

    Is that a 28.6 TT?

ReneHerse knobbies aren’t *that* bad on paved. They do hook up pretty well across dry and dusty. I just prefer the ride feel of the extralights (been fortunate with no huge punctures or slashes so far). Black holds sealant better than tan construction, in EL.

Hi, the bike setup is amazing, I love it. I’d like to know where I can buy a frame like this that’s compatible with 700c wheels and has a thru-axle option.
