I crashed my bike back in April 2025. Since then, my bike's been in storage while I was recovering from my broken collarbone. I took it to the shop today for maintenance because I feel comfortable to ride outside again. And they pointed out this very deep dent in the downtube.
Is this still safe to ride?

That looks more like a crease to me, I think it’d be a new frame time if that were me.
Hell no
Did you ask guys at the shop though?
If I were you, I wouldn’t ride it just because I would be always nervous about what would happen
This probably means the front steer tube and in extension the forks have been pushed back by the impact which unfortunately means your frame is cucked
That’s not a dent, your whole front end is bent inwards and these are creases of the bottom tube caving in. That frame is done for.
It’s cooked.
That might be bent in and not dented…
I’m rubbing my eyes at this post not being in the CJ subreddit.
Just…. no.
That’s not a dent, that frame is buckled. It’s likely to fully snap under stress.
What a huge crash must have been to bent a titanium tube like this! Don’t ride it because it’s compromised and also the geometry is screwed because now the wheel base is probably shorter. 😅
New frame or new spine, up to you
I do not know titanium enough, but I would say no, even if it’s safe, it will ride very differently.
In steel, it’s no.
In aluminium, it’s no.
In carbon, this does not seem possible.
That frame is compromised permanently. Retire it.
Reach out to the manufacturer and see if they’ll do a crash replacement
Dented?
More like obliterated
Wow. A buckled Ti frame. Thats a hell of an impact
U serious m8?
I’ve been involved with many custom Enigma builds, their frames are incredibly well made but a crashed and deformed frame is a crashed and deformed frame. I’d replace the frame and fork and look to sell the frame as scrap material, titanium is definitely worth recycling.
You can’t be serious, I guess this you want reconstructive face surgery
Write off. It’s done
It’s titanium…it’s not going to break. Now whether or not it effects the geometry of the bike is another matter
Frame i FUBAR. I would never ride it again. Quite common when you’re in a front collision that the fram will fold like this.
It’s not just a buckle, it’s scrap.
nope nope nope.
WTF did you do to it, mate?
Did you crash into a bus or brick wall?
