The most beautiful town in the Alps comes with more adventures than you expect.
🏊‍♀️ Swim in Lake Annecy — often called Europe’s cleanest lake. Head to Marquisats or Impérial for city beaches, or Angon & Duingt for quieter swims.
🚤 Get on the water — rent a pedal boat, paddleboard, or take a lake cruise for the best views.
🧗 Canyoning — the Angon canyon is famous for slides, jumps, and waterfalls just 25 min from town (with guides).
🌊 Gorges du Fier — walk a suspended path 25 m above rushing water in this dramatic gorge.
🚴 Bike the lake loop — a 42 km greenway lets you cycle along turquoise shores and through alpine villages.
🥾 Hike with views — from Roc de Chère reserve to the big climb up La Tournette (2,351 m), trails start right by the lake.
🏰 Castles — explore Annecy’s own hilltop château or visit fairy-tale Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard above the lake.
🌸 Old Town — pastel houses, canals, markets, cheese shops, and the iconic Pont des Amours. Truly, Venice of the Alps.
