Supposed to be same as a regular paycheck, somewhere around $350-$400USD, someone once suggested Mendham Bikes for lower cost bikes, which of these 2 would be better for me. I'll be using it for my daily commute, 1.5 miles each way, a couple of hills but mostly flat.

I’d pay the extra $20 to get the disc brakes. Don’t know anything about this company myself. Have you thought about your used market? FB Marketplace? Craigslist?
How far is your commute? What’s your general region? Will you be commuting during the winter or rain?
