Now story time :
Do you see that frame? This has been my dream frame since the day i discovered fixies. And when I saw it, it was on sale (1700€) and TO THIS DAY I still regret not buying it then but my cheap ass said nah (This is the exactreason why I just told myself WE GO ALL IN for this build, no more regrets). Now the frame is nowhere to be seen but somehow I found it on a random Japanese site. I had to contact them by email and all that to pay full price and when it shipped to france, french custom fckd me over …. :'×
Do you see the irony of it? paying french custom for a french bike made in france…. (VIVE LA FRANCE P*TAIN)
Anyway I really was desperate and i really went above and beyond to get it. no matter what.
And holly smoke 812g for that frame. Internet said it was supposed to be 1150g, thats 338g difference. (I'm very happy)
Okay that BB honestly I was really just trying to blow all my money on this bike lol I wanted premium everything so ceramicspeed it is. When I was mounting it in my garage I torqued it to spec, and i was tightening and tightening it was so hard i said let's do the other side and come back to it later. The other side was an instant click of the dynamo wrench…. I felt cold sweat on my back lol. Fortunately nothing broke. And I went to my work place to use their (working) dynamo wrench instead.
(I'm a bus mechanic as you can see) Also, DO NOT USE SPACER. leave it bare otherwise the crankset will be so tight it doesn't even spin. I learned it by trial and error.
For the crankset I chose purely by aesthetic. I liked the raketa one too but US market really isn't it these days and it was a heavier that rotor. + I got carbon crankarms to go. AeroCoach Brute crankset looked really cool and aero too but 1kg… and I didn't like the look of the carbon weave.
For the chainring i went for looks too It is a Ti plate but that's just a bonus, I would have loved it in size 59 and i did buy it at first but they emailed me saying "oh there's a mishap no 59" i say okay 61, and OH NO AGAIN! and i say 55, AND OH NO FREAKIN AGAIN. That's how I ended up with a 47t. I had to request them to check their inventory and update their site because even after all that they didn't change the stock count on their website…
Anyway that chainring is still so pretty haha
About MCFK seatpost, there's a minimum And a maximum lenght insert. Be SURE you got the right one (don't be me I had to return it because it was too long).
The Zipp top cap for the stem doesn't fit unfortunately
Total weight is ~3.72kg but I have weighed each individual parts except the brake cable (still uncut) and it comes to ~3050g if my math is right. That means there's 670g of cable + grease. Thats a lot I'll cut it once I install the front brake
Welp that's all. I'm just waiting on those wheel now.
Thanks for reading!

Yummy
That ridiculously exotic bicycle inside a Parisian bus maintenance depot is an amazing photo. Well done.
(Do any of your work colleagues know you’re this crazy?)

Impossible. It’s not a bus! Did you remember to add the fork weight?

What wheels? Maybe I missed it, but I read your post.
Looking forward to seeing the final result.
