Hello we are Andy and Julie we have taken a year (or maybe more) sabbatical from work to travel at home and abroad. To date our travels have included St Lucia, Martinique, back packing in Columbia and Peru. At home we have visited St Ives (Cornwall), The Isles of Scilly , Cumbria, and North Devon.
We are just back from an 8 week adventure in France staying in the Dordogne /Lot region to get a feel of French life. Later in the year our adventures and travels will include Hong Kong, Vietnam and Sardinia.
This year is about new adventures , new experiences , pausing the 9-5 , spending time with family and learning new skills. Our mantra for the year is CARPE DIEM (seize the day) !!

here we are driving through the French Countryside on a on our way to spend a day in Salat La Canada and I hope you’ll see what a beautiful place it is morning and welcome to Salat we are sitting in the festival Cafe we’ve snuck in early morning to have a cheeky um coffee and I had a very large croissant which is gone um and we’re sitting in the Central Market Square we really like salot um and where we are here we’re surrounded by beautiful medieval buildings quite elegant in nature so not as rustic as some of the other places and it’s filled with Boutique shops restaurants cafes obviously the um souvenir shops as well selling the typical um f Etc um and there’s a fantastic indoor market as well so yeah really like it and best of all loads of parking so it’s really easy to get into uh and I would imagine that’s the case even in the height of Summer so yeah fantastic and if you pop into the tourist office um they will give you a map that will show you the key points of interest um while you’re visiting salot and if you want to um have a guided tour then use get your guide and there is a salot Gourmet tour and Market visit with tastings the plasta Liberty is the square in the heart of the town and is surrounded by beautiful well-preserved buildings that date back to the medieval and Renaissance periods the square is Lively and often hosts markets festivals and various events throughout the year the salot Cathedral or Cathedral s SOS dominates one side of the square this Cathedral is a mix of Romanesque and Gothic AR architecture with a history dating back to the 12th century the square is lined with stone buildings featuring architectural elements like turrets carved stonework and mullon windows reflecting the town’s Rich history so here we are outside the indoor market the mar is a distinct feature of the Town housed in a converted 14th century Church the market is located inside the former IG Marie which was transformed into a modern Market Hall by the renowned architect Jean Noel [Music] so here we are coming into the indoor market so we’ve got local products definitely got to show you the uh Noah walnuts [Music] oils cheeses [Music] [Music] Pates so we’re walking through some of the um tiny little streets be in salot and this is the Circuit of the artists so lots of little boutiques uh and art shops around here the artist quarter in Salah refers to a vibrant area in the historic town where many local artists and Artisans live work and display their Creations this area is often characterized by its narrow winding streets medieval buildings and a concentration of galleries workshops and boutiques that showcase a variety of artistic works [Music] there is a host of restaurants in salot offering a variety of dish dishes um traditional perigo dishes French cuisine and International Fair um so one of the restaurants um if you’re looking for something a little bit more expensive and a little bit more special is the presidial uh it clust as a French Gourmet so the presal is known for its refined and elegant menu it’s set in a historic building with a Charming garden and the restaurant serves classic French dishes with a focus on quality ingredients making it a popular choice for special occasions but you can wander through the back little back streets and find the most beautiful cafes and restaurants um at prices that will suit any budget yeah gorgeous little restaurants this one’s hidden away if you’re just wanting to sit take a coffee a little snack and watch the world go by then no better place is around the pl de la liberte we also ate out at ly B ST which had traditional pero um food and we had a lovely evening and dogs were allowed shopping in Salat La Canada is a delightful experience particularly for those interested in local crafts gour food products and Regional specialities the town’s medieval streets are lined with boutiques markets and Artisan shops offering a variety of goods that reflect the rich culture and tradition of the dooron region and if you love a candle you have to visit the seat at s um they have the most beautifully scented calendars so I hope you enjoy the video please subscribe it does help us and it’s free to do so and have a look at the videos that we’ve put on the screen above of what we’ve done so far in our year out and then we’ll be off to Italy Hong Kong and Vietnam
