This one has been my go to for a casual ride since I picked it up on fb this summer for 50$. It was in a shed forever, had all the original parts. The paint, suprisingly, is in great condition. The decals not so much, since the are stickers on top of the paint.
Although it is bottom of the barel in the that year. 20-30 high ten steel nothing to brag about. The group set all kinda mid range Raleigh branded suntour ( which is kinda kool and get style points for me). Only thing, is whoever had it before me "upgraded" the shifters to down tube with fitting style suntour blue line. Still it was no high end stuff. Ive read somewhere on bike forum, that this record ace could be a rebranded Rampar, which were made abroad. Is that true ? The decal says "made of england" which is kinda misleading.
But man, for my first time riding a Raleigh, it was is so smooth, and when I pushed it while riding it goes faster, its a lot of fun. I thought about selling it when im done restoring, but I think im going to keep it. I love how it looks and how the ride feels. I think i might have found my perfect gentleman bike for me lol.
My friend today told me that it looks "Asthetic" whike taking those pics.
P.s. I kept the no grip tape because I wanted to maybe put a flat bar on it for more comfortable ride.
