Any tips on how to remove this seatpost from an old Pinarello Prince? I‘ve already tried putting on WD40 overnight and with hot water but hasn‘t moved a bit. After that I tried jamming in a Screwdriver to open the hole a bit (the crack already there before!) but didn‘t work either.
I‘m slowly running out of options and only thing that comes to my mind atp is to cut it off and try to get the rest out of the frame🙃

That frame is done.
If you’re just trying to save the seat post, it’s not worth it.
if it’s a carbon frame it can be repaired. don’t destroy the frame yet
Like the other guy said, frame is gone
[removed]
Put seat clamp in a vice and twist the frame instead of the post. I recently did this with a aluminum post in a steel frame.
With carbon this old though, you’ll probably damage the post removing it, and the only way you can be sure its safe is with testing that costs more than a new seat post.
But why though
Why are you trying to remove it if it’s not to save the seatpost? That frame is deader than Isadora Duncan.
Surely you are trying to save only the seatpost, right? Riiiiiiiiigght?
That seat post is more than likely fused to that frame. CF and aluminum tends to pretty much weld each other
well, the seatpost is also pretty much toast I guess. You could have fractured the carbon fibers when using the screw driver to pry the frame open…
IF you choose to cut it off….please use sth to cover your mouth and nose and keep the post wet while doing so…carbon fiber dust isnt the healthiest thing you could breathe in.
The aluminium in the frame has likely suffered galvanic corrosion and formed aluminium oxide. The oxide is a white powder and takes up a greater volume than aluminium. This it likely why the frame has cracked and also why the seatpost is wedged in there. The frame is done. You could save the seatpost by cutting the frame off using a Dremmel.
What do you think, should WD40 do on a carbon seatpost?
The frame is done and already cracked – it should be easy to get it out, as there is only low tension on the seat post. Grab it by the saddle and use a Hammer on the top tube
that frame is already gone. if you’re contemplating the idea of cutting the seatpost, what exactly are you trying to salvage here?
That frame is toast. If you want to salvage the seatpost:
– pour boiling water on it. It will dissolve the mineral salts and heat up stuff, which swells
– flip frame upside down, pour vinegar into the from from the bottom bracket. Let soak for a few hours.
– put seat in clamp/wedge it somewhere and twist with the frame. This does risk breaking the seat post.
– “it can’t be stuck if it is liquid”.
I mean, why? The frame’s toast, the seatpost probably doesn’t fit anything else. Bin it.
