
Is it only me or the Shimano crank bolt are easy to be rounded. It feels a little soft. The one on the left is the original Shimano bolt that came with the crank and right one is standard black steel from Amazon
This is the 4th bolt that almost got rounded from me while torquing it using a small torque wrench. I am always ensuring that the bit is fully inserted, etc.
I switched to standard black steel and this never happened despite multiple removals and installations.
Am I doing something wrong?

Yes, they are quite easy to strip especially when the allen key is not fully inserted. I always make sure it’s fully engaged on these bolts. Also you might consider getting a better bit set for your torque wrench to avoid that in the future
