I think it’s brilliant. You get the lock, getting the helmet, you get the visor. I think it’s really good. Oh my. You know how much buy cost? I used to put aside my boss ticket body every month. But this is all body saved, time save and everything. It’s really worth it. Yeah. Essex Pedal Power and Active Travel has been an extremely important project for Midsouth Essex NHS Foundation Trust. It’s about our role as a very large institution and the need to reducing health inequalities in Essex and what we can do to support those communities who are at risk of being left behind and providing free bikes has been very much part of that story. Essex Pedal Power really benefits our staff as it provides free bikes, accessories and cycle confidence training for our staff at bands 2 to four. This is really great at promoting equity because it obviously reduces some of the financial burdens that can come with traveling by car or public transport which is obviously really helpful when we’re in a cost of living crisis. One of the reasons they have a high turnover in most hospitals is the cost of public transport whether it’s buses which don’t run at nights or taxes just to get the people to and from work it’s eating into their wages. So this is just saving the member of staff, but it will in the long run hopefully save the NHS money as well, not to train too many people. Oh, it’s amazing. Saves me some money. I think the bonus is even the word free, so it feels good. Majority of the time before I had my bike, I used to come to work late because you can never trust the boss time. But with my bike, I’m already at work. I still have about 20 minutes to rest before I start work. So it has really made life easy for me. The scheme supports our greener NHS agenda because as an NHS we have target to reach net zero carbon emissions and that’s really looking at reducing air pollution and also it’s really good for staff cardiovascular fitness and mental health in terms of reducing stress and anxiety. It reduces sickness and also increases retention in the trust. So just gives greater morale for our services that are particularly under lots of pressure. I’m very grateful about the bike because even from my house to work here, I cannot get a direct bus. It will cost me almost about6. A lot of the people that receive the bikes stay in touch and will come out on the lead bike rides. So you end up forming this sort of like small community of people that will go out and we’ll ride together. It’s lovely. They care about the well-being of the staff. Thank you, SS Pedal Power.
