Trying to upgrade my bottom bracket and crank but there’s a gap after I put everything together.
I’m not sure what the issue as it seems like everything is properly put together. I measured the gap to be 1.5 to 2mm
The crank didn’t come with spacers, the bottom bracket did and I used them the way that Shimano said to in the instructions.
68mm bottom bracket
Shimano BB MT801
Shimano cues FC-U6000 crank, 42t
Bike Friday Haul a Day
Upgrading from a 3x to a 1x.
The second picture is the right hand side of the crank. It looks fine

No play in the bottom bracket. It’s solid
You need a spacer
Looks like drive side needs to be set, hit home so the gap shows on non drive side and use the preload to eat up the slack.
Here you go mate.

What size spacers are you using? What Shimano docs are you looking at?
