Hey guys , I am fairly new to biking , and I honestly only plan on being a “coffee shop “ rider . I do run a lot , maybe I’ll eventually transition to a few miles a week . Also , I am really into the neo-retro aesthetics , and I am wondering if this would be a good starter bike for me .

oh and he wants 500 for it , will be going to look at it tomorrow
Cool bike. I’d try to get it for less than $500 though.
Nice bike: will certainly be fun to ride.
Looks to be a quite small frame (50? 52?), so better make sure it fits your body size.
Price is quite high.
One of the first bikes I had when I started roading was a 3rd or 4th hand Caad. I loved that thing.
Yep it’s got retro street cred 👍. Check the frame over for dents and any hairline cracks around the junctions. Check wheels are true and solid at the hubs. Check seatpost moves and isn’t frozen in the frame. You’ll be limited to thin tyres (maybe up to 25mm) so hopefully the pavement is generally smooth.
I used to sell those when I worked in a bike shop. I believe that is a 1997 model. Saeco was the pro team Cannondale provided bikes to back then, including Mario Cipollini. People used to run Spinergy wheels on those! Is that Ultegra components? Miss matched wheels? The rear Shimano probably went bad. I would talk him down a bit. It is not a 58cm or large. Make sure it fits you, as in the length is good. If you feel cramped, pass on it. He has a long stem on it. He also has a 0 degree setback seatpost. You could get a little more length with a 20 degree setback post. Make sure the components match. Those levers look a little funny.
I understand this bike will shake your teeth out on rough roads, but is highly sought after.
