Hi everyone!
I currently ride a Giant Defy Advanced 2 (2019) — about 4,000 km per year here in Tyrol, Austria — and I’m looking to upgrade to a new endurance road bike.
I can get both of these bikes for roughly €4,000, and I’m torn between them:
My rides are mostly between 60 (afterwork) and 200 km (on weekends) with moderate climbing (up to ~1,000 m per ride). Comfort is my main priority, but I still want a bike that’s efficient for long distances.
Having electronic shifting and a power meter is important to me.
Would love to hear from anyone who’s ridden either of these bikes:
- Which would you choose and why?
- How do they compare in real-world comfort, ride quality, and efficiency?
- Any advice regarding geometry, tire clearance, maintenance, or long-term reliability (especially since Canyon is direct-to-consumer)?
