Hey guys, i am preparing a bikepacking trip along Eurovelo 7 from Umeå to Nordkapp. Has anyone ever done that ? I have questions about the road. Apparently supposed to take the road E10 from Töre until the boarder with Finland. How is this road for bikes ? It looks that there is no place for bikes, how drive the cars there ?

It’s been a while since I lived in northern Sweden, and I haven’t driven those roads in particular. I would expect quite a lot of traffic on the E roads. I think the drivers will generally respect you, it will probably be stressful due to the amount of traffic on the road. I would try to find less busy roads, but it will likely make the trip longer and have more climbing.
I know which roads they want you to take and I’ve done them only in a car and they absolutely suck and have been under slow construction for years. At points there isn’t even a road.
Moreover, if you do this on bike be prepared for no stores, no supplies, no food,, nothing. It’s not a nice place for the 4-5 days you’ll spend riding through until you reach Norway. The Finnish side is only marginally better. It also depends on which route you’ll take because there are a bunch of smaller roads. If you go to Skibotn in Norway you’ll eventually be able to go to Nordskjosbotn and stock up and then work your way north or just head to Storslett and then across eventually to Alta and then onward to the Nordkapp. Alternately you can go over the E45 which brings you right to Alta, but be aware you’ll still need to plan to be in this empty zone for a few days, though there are a couple places in Finland, like a gas station.
If you dont feel safe enough with riding on the E10, i would take a look for a lesser trafficked route, like the Swedish trail or by partly making your own alternate one by using the gravel map.
