Greedy personal injury lawyers do damage.
Fuck that sucks. Did the county not indemnify the donor? Ugh
Well I guess this helps keep our trails natural
(For people not familiar this was basically the only place in the county that was allowed to have manmade features and trail enhancement)(which I don’t mind because I like natural rocky trails)(but this still sucks big time because it was cool to have something different, and who is every gonna donate time and materials again?)
Wait… this is the skills park I’ve been wanting to check out but could never find when I visit graham hills! FUCK 😩
If anyone wants to help email or call these people to complain, here are their emails(THIS IS NOT A DOXX, THIS IS PUBLICLY AVAILABLE INFORMATION)

Action sports personal injury lawsuits are so fucking destructive. If our healthcare system wasn’t burning people with insurmountable amounts of debt, these lawsuits would be less common IMO. For many injured people a lawsuit is seen as the only way they could possibly pay for their medical bills resulting from an injury.
Tried looking for the lawsuit and I honestly can’t tell which of many caused this. The county gets sued a lot for bicycle injuries, usually for hazards caused by not properly maintaining trails. If the company offered to be in charge of maintenance then I could definitely see why they’d assume the liability if the courts found that injury was sustained from proper maintenance not being performed.
Who tf would sue over their own dumb mistake 😭😭 This is why we can’t have nice things 😞
Stop sueing other people because you got hurt doing an activity that you knew was dangerously.
I’m sorry you got hurt but that doesn’t give you the right to shut down the fun for everyone else. Liability law is so backwards in the US.
I rode all my life and grew up in pville but never got into mtb while I was a kid. I drove and road past this place all the time. I even helped do some work on the trail while helping out a kid in my Boy Scout troop on his Eagle Scout project.
I had plans to get down there and ride it some time within the next year. This is sad to hear.
graham hills was SO much better a few years ago before these jumps were built. There used to be hidden jump trails at the back of the park that only a select few knew about. And you had to pedal to get there. Now, these new jumps are right next to the parking lot when you drive in. So OF COURSE someone with no skill and even less common sense can hurt themselves. They made it TOO accessible. It ruins it for the rest of us who actually know how to take jumps and not fuck themselves up in the process
NYS liability laws are the worst.
Is there a sign up or something that warns you of the risks? How do other community parks, preserves, etc protect themselves from this? It doesn’t make sense that the solution is to just close the trails. You would think that there would be some boiler plate legal signage to protect the land owner/operator
What a POS person to sue, though probably a parent of a kid using it (West Chester is a wealthy NYC suburb). Idk if anything can be done at this point, but a lot of trail networks near me actually have a waiver policy. No one checks anyone on it, but it exists to protect them, legally.
