  1. Maybe dry rot since it was sitting? Tires don’t always pop they can do slow leaks. For example I had an unsafe tread wear on my car (didn’t realize it) and the threads were showing underneath and my car was still operating normally.

  2. Just replace, and try to keep your bike dry and not in direct sun when not used.
    Use a bike cover, helps a lot.

  3. Blowout stemming from a dry rotted sidewall no longer capable of sufficiently supporting a tube under pressure. OP, in photo 1 you can see multiple cracks at the base of the lugs to the left of the torn sidewall; that’s an indication of extensive of rot, not just at the blowout point.
