Score! That was the top end Al Marin and insanely light. I had a Team Marin of the same vintage which was a hard tail with fancy steel tubes.

Those forks are things of beauty. I threw mine out years ago and regret it. The elastomers are probably dust at this point if they haven’t been serviced

That seat clamp QR is a Ringlé Holey. Pretty baller! Those are also lovely forks, but the elastomers in yours have definitely perished over the years. Those forks don’t have any coil springs, air, or damper in them and they’re super easy to rebuild with new elastomers (although it’s a messy process). The old elastomers typically turn into an incredibly sticky goo with age and the majority of the rebuild is just dissolving that goo with acetone and cleaning out the inside of the fork. Suspensionforkparts.net sells the elastomers. I’ve done three of them now and they feel lovely with the new elastomers.
