The rule is to never drift the downhill on a toge. But if you’ve ever watched Initial D, this is the only race they care about. Weird, right? Well, let me explain. When you’re driving on a mountain pass going uphill, you generally need a lot of power because you’re fighting gravity. The car is almost doing a rolling burnout up the entire mountain. But drifting downhill is the opposite. It’s much more dangerous. You use a lot of e bra to try and slow down your car going too fast. This is why the lightweight 86 has such an advantage even without power. In real life though, there isn’t any heated battles on the hills anymore, just a bunch of idiots sliding the car around for fun. Thus, nowadays in Japan, it is common courtesy to only drift the uphill to crunches. And that is why

    TAKUMI'S AE86 HAS NO POWER
is a HUGE MISSTAKE all over 20years
people keep missleading and never do the research on how his car was built and numbers
    since stage2 he got 240hp
    in stage4
his car got weight reduction from 1000kg to 880KG

    dont get me worng
240hp with 880kg with close geasr ratios
    is crazy fast
and way more powerful then literally
most of the component in anime
dont believe me? take a look at
11.000RPM Toyota Starlet On the Limit
    || 4AGE Swapped Monster Onboard

or any stock kswap ek eg versus
    evos stis stangs v6s v8s
watch how they keep up on straight line

  2. Dangerous because the people who do it lack the skill to do so.
You can still do it. Just have to accept the consequence that comes with it

  3. don’t call anyone fools there is ONE GOD we’re all made in GOD’S IMAGE dont use that emoji don’t you lust JESUS died and the rose again so we all can be in HEAVEN GOD hates the sin, not the sinner! 🙏🏾 ✝️

  4. for uphill you need torque and good traction
for downhill you need lightweight body and strong brakes

    also differential is important too
you shouldnt run downhill with 2way lsd, spool or welded
you can use them for uphill but downhill need 1 way lsd or open diff because you need zero coasting lock for avoiding understeer at corner entry
on uphill you can do powerover to turn but on downhill you already have to much speed on entry you cant do that so you need minimum understeer at entry

  5. The combo of Takumi’s drifting skills and the lightweight 86 with less power than most cars & racing going downhill, was the reason he was unbeatable. Keisuke’s FD has too much power for downhill and he specializes in uphill battles bcuz on the downhill he’s fighting against using his throttle too much, over using the brake to help compensate and other things. The exact reason why Ryosuke downgraded his FC before his second battle with Takumi I believe bcuz he knew the advantage he had over him and especially other racers not as skillful as them. As cool as it looks and seems to drift downhill on the touge I would only do it with low hp RWD JDM’s that are lightweight like an AE86, Suzuki Cappuccino or even a Honda S2000 with as much weight reduction as possible and minimum upgrades that increase HP. And even then I would still be shitting my pants! 😂 I get it’s an Anime but still I have no clue how they all did it in Initial D & IRL in the 90’s.

  6. it should be noted what most call "drifting" today was coined in formula drift and is actually not drifting, its called powersliding, powersliding as its name implies is putting down power, drifting is conserving momentum and technically is actually a gravel technique as true drifting stems from rally, even though it is slip angle which has been documented long before
