Pre-ride update
Nothing like quitting your job because your job doesn’t appreciate you messing up the nice routine you had going.
I have been pretty bad about getting on the bike. Started the job search and already applied to a dozen jobs. Gonna give it till next week before I start calling for updates. Most of these are ones I could reasonably bike to. January is when I’ll start applying to retail jobs.
Alas, most of the jobs I want require me crossing intersections so I am now going to go cross a relatively safe intersection. Worst comes to worst, I’ll just walk the bike across if I’m feeling nervous. Haven’t fully decided if I’m going to the park or library yet. Both are about two miles so I’ll be updating this post once I arrive.

There is no shame in walking your bike across an intersection. Some intersections are fundamentally not made for bikes or just generally dangerous overall. There’s no point putting yourself at risk.
It’s pretty easy to just get off and cross on foot as a pedestrian. If it’s a heavy intersection with multiple lanes in each direction I’d always get off and walk across, just because visibility is so much worse for drivers and there’s too much happening
I just remind myself “it would be super depressing to die commuting to work”
Update: Can’t edit my post, but eh.
Ended up stopping at my local church because I apparently am not okay about quitting, but I know yall arent interested about that part 😜
Crossed via pedestrian and now headed to the park. Decided I needed some time outside, that and there’s a trail I want to do at one of the nature parks thats a few miles so figure may as well get used to it during the midday.
