Hello from Bremen. I’m going to show you three things you must do in this city. But first, let’s have a quick look at the University of Bremen. Founded in 1971, it’s one of the younger state universities in Germany. The University of Bremen is a research university. It has 12 faculties, but its research focuses on five interdisciplinary high-profile areas. For instance, marine, polar, and climate research. We start right at the heart of Bremen with the historic marketplace and town hall. Isn’t it marvelous? This UNESCO World Heritage site is a mix of Gothic and Western Renaissance styles and is also worth seeing from inside with a guided tour. Did you know that Bremen’s most famous citizens are actually four animals? A donkey, a dog, a cat, and a rooster. Together, they are the town musicians of Bremen. The bronze statue in front of the town hall recalls the fairy tale by the famous brother Scrim. This is a classic photo spot, and you should follow the local tradition of rubbing donkeyy’s legs for good luck. If you have more time to spend, the Chanel district is full of tiny alleyways, narrow houses, charming boutiques, and restaurants. Okay, just to let you know, the national dish in Bremen is actually called Uninkle. It’s a winter dish of kale stew paired with a smoked sausage known as Pinkle, but I’ll have the red fruit jelly dessert instead, or the brut. It’s one of the most popular German summer desserts and combines the flavors and textures of several fresh summer berries served with vanilla sauce, whipped cream, or ice cream. M. This tastes very sweet and refreshing. You are bound to end up in the Fertil, a cool neighborhood that attracts locals and students alike. Many of the pubs and bars here have a quaint traditionally Hansiatic flare. This is a veggie friendly part of town with lots of vegan and vegetarian options. That’s all for now. So, what do you think about Fman?

  1. Nahhhh wouldn't recommend Bremen at all!!! I went to the German School in Guatemala, and the Guatemalan ex change students back in the 1900s used to tell me that the Bremen host families were so rude, racist and opportunistic, purely Rubbish!! 👎🏻 That's the reason I've never migrated to Germany ….
