I’ve got my bike (Giant Stance e+2) pretty well dialed in over the past 3 years. I do most of the work on it myself. The derailleur has always been ’slow’ going into the smallest gear. I’ve had it professionally adjusted- lasted a few months. I’ve changed the shifter cable. I’m m getting ready to try an electronic shifter attachment from Kickstarter soon. Could it just be that I need a different derailleur ?

If it wasn’t great from the start, and a cable has not fixed it, you need to replace housing and check the hanger alignment before spending more money.
