4 years and over 1000 miles. Tons of 5 am commutes. 1 flat tire. 1 broken spoke. 2 crashes. Schwinn discover has done well. But after achieving my goal of a full marathon, I now have triathlon goals. Im going to use this bike for the 2 sprint triathlons next year but its time to upgrade. Looking for suggestions for a sub 2k bike 1k preferably that can be a good trainer that doubles as commuter. I would like it to be decent enough to take me to ironman 70.3 just finishing.

Even though you’ve evidently never had any problems in the past, I’d recommend against that cable lock for anyone. I’ve got a less than $1,000 bike, yet I chose a Kryptonite Evolution 4 integrated chain lock
Wow! Only 1 flat and 1 spoke is darn good for 4 years. 2 crashes is about average….. I went the IMBA Racing route.
