I’d been stuck in a slump since my last big adventure, so I set myself a challenge: ride 100 km north of Copenhagen, deep into Denmark’s largest natural forest, Gribskov. This wasn’t about chasing KOMs or speed. It was about testing discipline, finding flow, and riding my way back into motivation.
The loop had everything: long gravel stretches, café stops, moments of struggle, and a brutal bonk near the end. It’s a mix of raw ride story and honest reflection. A reminder that sometimes you don’t wait for motivation, you create it in the saddle.

What happens when you ride a 100 km with no motivation and only cheap gummies for fuel? I signed up for a 100 km loop through Denmark’s largest natural forest, Grip Sculpt. Even though lately my training has been mostly Netflix and snacks. The first 50 km were fine. Then I bonked so hard I started bargaining with Haribo like they were performance-enhancing drugs. At one point, I even considered fueling with a cigarette ground. That’s where I was at. My legs said stop. My brain said stop. Even the gummies said stop. But somehow I crawled to 100 km powered entirely by sugar, regret, and questionable life choices. Would you try this loop? The Strava activity with the GPX file is linked below. It makes you wonder.
