  1. So the other day my crank arm ‘came loose’ and flipped to be on the same height as the driving side (meaning you can’t really bike). I took the arm off and reattached it to be aligned correctly. First It was flush against the bottom bracket, but that caused the chain to not be aligned with the chain mover. So I pushed the other side which caused the non-driving side to have a gap. Is this fine? I have checked changing gears and that works

I am just scared that it will happen again.

  2. Looks like the arm is not fully seated on the splines. Are the splines ok on the axle and in the arm?

  3. No, it shouldn’t have that gap.

I’m guessing when you reattached the non-drive crank, the drive side crank wasn’t pushed all the way into the bb.

Take off the non-drive crank andreattach it so there is no gap (with the drive side pushed all the way into the bike), it should be fine. Though I would follow along with a tutorial, pretty much all Shimano cranks come apart the same way as far as I know.
