  1. You don’t need to do a 1x drivetrain, it’s more than adequate as-is.
    Doing a 10sp drivetrain means you have to change the cassette, shifter and rear derailler, meaning you’re gonna spend several hundred dollars, (and if it’s a 7 speed then you’ll also need a new rear wheel too.) In that case you might as well just buy a bike that’s already 1X.
    All you’re doing is following a trend. Learn how to use your front derailler.
    Frame size looks like an 18″

  2. The cheapest option to go 1x drivetrain is 8 speed. Keeps the chain and the derailleur, only the cassette and the shifter are needed (and 1x drivetrain ofc). There are cassettes up to 42T. You can do it for $30.
