Picked this up the other day for 150 just for the parts (there were no pictures of the cinelli stamp on the listing). Not sure the guy knew what he had. Hoping to see if anyone can identify the frame type or give me an idea of what it’s worth.

There are too many variables covered by the paint job to give an accurate value. We can’t pin down the year of manufacture or tubing used. The fact that it was painted is a negative on value. There’s no bad Cinelli steel track frames out there so it’s good, but not worth a fortune. I hope you’re at least 6’6” tall for that size!
150 is a great price for everything there, but the frame as it is probably isn’t particularly valuable. As u/Jasonisfishing noted, its being repainted hides a lot and lowers value. Additionally, a Cinelli BB shell doesn’t mean a Cinelli frame, and none of the frame’s details look particularly Cinelli. That said, anything built with Cinelli lugs is probably pretty nice. However, that’s almost definitely not the original fork, which is another negative tick.
If you’re patient and can find a buyer who’s a giant who wants to build a tracklocross bike or something, you might be able to get $150-300 for it. (My best guess. Take with a grain of salt, etc.)
Or, if you yourself are a giant, you could just ride and enjoy it, because it’s probably nicer than it is valuable. Which is a really fun quality for a bike.
Cinelli stamp indicates the bottom bracket shell was cast by Cinelli, but gives no indication that the frame itself is a Cinelli. The canti studs on the fork would seem to indicate a mismatched fork on a track bike, but it’s always possible the whole thing was some framebuilder’s custom project. As it stands $150 seems like a fair price.
Total novice here – would be interesting to know what type of threads are in that bb – French, Italian, English?
More than its current state. So sad, it could bring a tear to my eye.
I love this comment — and it’s true of a lot of vintage bikes:
“It’s nicer than it is valuable.”
Based on that, you should either keep it and ride it, or gift or to a valued (tall) friend. Some joys can’t be qualified.
If I were 194cm tall, I might appreciate a gift of a quality steed which doesn’t capture any attention. from evildoers.
I’d estimate the value at between $11 and $800
Looks like the seattube/toptube lug was repaired at some point. Probably broke at the binder bolt area.
I have an ’83 Marinoni Special with the same BB stamp. It’s a similar color to this. It’s a nice frame–a very fun rider and well made–but definitely not a high value collector bike.
