Remco Evanapul just joined Red Bull Bora Hanssroy and the Tert of France route might already be giving him a headache. New team, new colors, new pressure and a 2026 tour that starts with a team time trial unlike anything we’ve seen in recent history. For Remco, this could be both the opportunity and the trap that defines his summer. And a quick reminder for all of our viewers in Canada, we have the Tour to France 2026 live and on demand. Every stage, every mountain, every sprint, every yellow jersey moment. Don’t miss out. So, here’s the story. Ramco officially joined with Red Bull Bora Hensroy ahead of 2026, already linking up with the team for some training. Joining with Primos Ragglitch, Florian Lipawitz, and young Julio Pelazari. They just wrapped up their first team get together in southern Germany and Austria with a little Red Bull flare of course. We’re talking helicopter rides, F1 pit stop training, and visits to the Red Bull Athletic Performance Center in Salsburg. Basically, a preseason camp that looks more like a movie set. But behind the photo ops and smiles, the real question looms. Who’s the real team leader for the tour to France? Team manager Zack Dempster told reporters, “We’ll now wait for the routes of the other Grand Tours before finalizing our season plans.” Translation: They’re not ready to hand Remco Evanapul the keys to the souped-up Camaro with chrome exhaust pipes just yet. And here’s where it gets interesting. The 2026 tour opens with a 19 km team time trial in Barcelona. a course finishing up the Mongjuik and into the Olympic Stadium. But the rules have changed. Instead of timing the team on the fourth rider across the line, this year’s tour takes the time of the first rider. So, it’s not really a full team test anymore. It’s a slingshot for your team leader. That format was tested in Perry the last few years. Teams basically emptied their tanks, launching their leader up the final climb like a rocket. Personally, I loved it. Much more exciting than your normal team time trial. Not the same opinion for the GM at team Visma Lisa Bike, Richard Plug. He said, “For me, a team time trial is a team time trial. The beauty is you need the whole team. Even the number four or five has to keep up.” And in some respects, he’s not wrong. in this new rule that they’re trying at the Tour to France that was used at Perinise, which I liked. It could play right into the hands of the Belgian star Remco Evanapul. He’s the best time trial rider out there, having won the Rainbow Jersey the last couple years at the World Championships. At the 2025 Tour to France, not so long ago, he won the 33 kilometer time trial and gaining 16 seconds on Pagachar and over a minute on Vingaga. His power over short efforts is unreal. If Red Bull nails the timing, he could be wearing the yellow jersey already on day one. Imagine that. New team, new jersey, first day, yellow on his back. But that’s where the good news ends because after Barcelona, the 2026 route is a mountain feast with brutal back-to- back summit finishes on Altaw stages 19, stages 20. And here’s the thing, time triing is Remco’s strength. Climbing with Pogachar and Vingaga for 3 weeks, that’s still a weak spot. Even his team knows it. That’s why they’re hesitating, watching how the Jirro and Vela routes shake out before deciding where to send him. Still, Remco’s move to Red Bull might just be the shakeup he needs. He spent years at home team Quickstep, a predominantly classics team over the years where they worked to transform him from Prodigy to Grand Tour winner. Now he’s surrounded by big engines and even bigger expectations. Raglitch is still under contract. Leapawitz is on the rise. This team’s got horsepower. But as every cycling fan knows, thinking back to the Walt Easpa that Sepus won, when you mix too many leaders, you get fireworks. And maybe that’s just what the tour to France needs. Because let’s face it, Pogachar’s dominance has been suffocating, at times ridiculous. The rest of the Pelton’s playing catch-up. And Remco is the one guy young enough, hungry enough, and stubborn enough to actually believe he can close the gap. Let us know down in the comments. Do you think Remco has what it takes? Take the yellow jersey in Barcelona, hold it all the way through July, or will the mountains like Alto chew him up? Tatty Pogachar just too strong. and then with those climbing legs remco just can’t match. Remember all the action will be live and on demand the 2026 tour to France for our viewers in Canada. Also, make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss out on any of our coverage, any of the videos like these we have coming up. Thank you. Whatever happens, the tour’s first stage is going to explode. A new time trial format, a new Red Bull team, and a young Belgian chasing cycling’s biggest dream. One thing’s for sure, Remco Evanapul’s not just here for the ride.

  1. Great TT and one day rider but the gap is way too huge to Pog and even Jonas. And at the rate that Del Toro has been improving, he may not even podium at the 2026 Tdf.

  2. what most people forget is that Remco has been unlucky with the crash(es) – Last winter he had a broken shoulder leaving him well till Jan-Feb of the bike. Even Poggi did not win the TDF after his crash at LBL (which was less severe) and the same in true for Jonas. The year he did not any issue with prep he won LBL, Vuelta, Classica San Sebastian and the world champs.

  3. Remco can get the yellow jersey in the 1st stage of 2026 Tour de France, but I think he will not be able to keep it through 2 consecutive Alp D'Huez finish stages. Maybe at that time Lipowitz will battle with Pogy and Vingo for the GC.

  4. Your star rider must on the tour. And right now it's Remco. Roglic is past Lipowitz the future Remco is now.
Plus you never what could happen to pogi and it's not in Remco's nature to not even try to compete.

  5. They might lead him to the last climb, but then it is uphill until the finish. I don’t even think this rule suits him that much in this TTT. But it will be an interesting first stage.

  6. Remco should ride.

Co-leaders aren't a bad idea when facing Pogacar. In 2022 we had Jonas and Primoz attacking Tadej, and they broke him. Now this is a different Tadej but it still stands to reason. You gotta try everything to beat him

  7. Remco may have a chance to wear the yellow on loan after stage 1, but I highly doubt he will be in yellow after stage 21. He most likely won't make the podium once the "who's who" really starts firing.

  8. Trouble with closing the gap when you are 99% there is that the final 1% takes as much effort as the previous 99% combined. Perfection, or being the very best, in something as competitive as grand tour cycling is the calculus of effort needed to get that final little bit. Same is true for just about any competitive human endeavor. What Evenepoel needs is the others to age and drop in form, then he will have his window.

  9. If they understand each other's strengths and weaknesses and agree to a plan, they could all be in the top 5. Remco does not have the top 3 stamina and neither does Roglic, but Leipovitz does and with luck can move up the podium. Remco for the time trial, just let him go. Ganna will be fast as well Pogi.

  10. Sorry, he just doesn't have it. Teams would be wise to keep their guys close together so they have more cards to play. If there’s more guys for UAE to mark, the better their chances are. sending one guy up far ahead on GC limits the numbers UAE has to follow later in the race

  11. Remco could beat Pogi by a couple of minutes in stage 1 (but he will not) and still end up tired out by the 2nd week. Not gonna happen. Lipovitz has better chances. Better endurance. Still he'll add to the "excitement" until he fades….🤔
