In this video, Marlipiegos discusses using wired headphones in 2025. After his Beats Studio 2s broke in the gym, he switched to using his decade-old Beats Mixrs instead. However, there’s one thing about the Mixrs that took some getting used to: they’re wired. After Apple removed the headphone jack from iPhones, everyone stopped using wired headphones, but there are a lot of benefits to usi them that people forgot about.

so last month I was in the gym when I lost control of the weight dropped it on my head and snapped my headphones clean in half so I started searching for a new pair online but after seeing the ridiculous prices I remember oh wait I guess I have an extra pair in my nightstand so I found my old beats mixers and started using them as a replacement for my broken Studios now these work fine and sound good but there’re just one aspect of these it takes some getting used to they’re wired however after a few weeks of using these every day I thought why aren’t more people using wired headphones in 2025 when Apple controversially stopped putting an ox port on iPhones I feel like everybody stopped using wired headphones I mean look around a gym or work or you won’t see a single wire but there are a lot of huge advantages to wired headphones that people completely forgot about you never have to worry about charging the battery it’s completely plug andplay they will last literally decades since there’s no battery degrading over time and there’s no audio lag whatsoever

  1. My cheap wired earphones sound far better than wireless earbuds 6x the price.

I’m done with wireless, always needing to recharge is just annoying.

  2. You should get a pair of the beats solo buds. The maximum price is 70 something dollars and they work really well. I got a pair for my birthday. They’re amazing.

  3. wired headphone? why not dual connection?
i am still using an mdr-zx770bn…
it is both a bluetooth and wired…
i can even use it wired while it's turned off…
but that also means i cannot use its noise cancelling capabilities…
though it is not a big deal since it is too old that it's noise-cancelling is almost non-existent… i can still hear ambient noise…
but for about 10years of using it, it is great…
maybe i will upgrade on another cheap one – ch720…

  4. 😂 talk about the bass and the headphones would get damages through the years by blasting itself out by the bass and sound and all that, , … my sister says Bluetooth signals would gives cancer , etc … … my home is so big, when I do exercise at home, I am running my HiFi system and I get the neighbours Māori barking back at my windows for the music is too loud or the other neighbours came out to their deck to check to see if it’s about to rain with a rumbling sky (my HiFi system making the rumbling sound), I would buy wired headphones

  5. Wired headphones are one of the few old pieces of tech that I'm glad is dead. I still get bluray movies and games on disc btw, so I'm not just hating on old stuff.

  6. a good budget set of headphones with crazy bass is the skullcandy crusher evo. i own them and their insane just for £180. they last 40 hours on a full charge. and 4 hours on a 10 min charge. the bass is adjustable too. i would recommend it for bass heads.

  7. Bluetooth can transmit 20-20000 khz, my wired headphones can also work with Bluetooth but they are gonna be limited. My headphones are 5-32000khz, and it sounds a lot better, and even the soundstage is way better

  8. As much as I enjoy Apple products ( they like just about any other company have scams/ or gotchas in their product marketing & pricing strategies,
~ think the well known pricing upgrade ladder 🪜
~ 3.5mm port also absolutely being a part of that
( at least they’re not absolutely brutal about it and you can usually use a 3rd party accessory to get around it to get some great usage value from the base product)

Great insight in this short 👍💖

  9. Also many wired headphones have in built DACs and give us high res ! If not use a tiny GoLink DAC-Amp and lo you have the best sound that no wireless headphone can beat !

  10. I put the cable under my nails in a way that ruins the cord pretty fast… I also have a lot of earwax so wireless tend to just be easier to clean + i don't have to worry about keeping any cable clean!

  11. For some headphones, I’d recommend I would say get the JBL 720 BT I have some and they’re really good for the price you get an app noise cancellation, and really good base and equalizer

  12. They get in the way and I have to take my phone wherever I go around the house. Also, as someone else mentioned, the wire does end up getting messed up.

  13. It's like asking why they make drugs to treat symptoms instead of curing your ailments, there is less profit in longevity and reduced waste.

  14. Many people are still using wired headphones in Germany 2025. You pay less, you never charge them and they sound so much better, 'cause they're lacking the (very silent) white noise in the background that bluetooth headphones have.
