On one hand, I think they look bad. On the other hand you look even worse under a truck… I ride alot outdoor in the winter so being seen is always good. But I wonder if I want to wear it when I know I look like a dork lol

I wear a safety orange helmet, gloves and shoes. It’s dorky *and* it matches aesthetically. Definitely a vibe. Maybe it makes me more noticeable, maybe it doesn’t. Who knows, but it makes my elderly mother feel better and I like the color combo.
I don’t think they do much, if someone is distracted while driving they’re gonna hit you whether you’re fluorescent or not.
That being said, if it makes you feel safer then by all means go for it.
I think it all really depends on how much time is spent in a roadway shared with cars.
My rides take me through sketchy areas and is mostly secluded from cars, so I prefer keeping high visible optional and using my lights and high viz vests and reflectors as needed.
Hot pink. But unless it’s at night, drivers ignore safety colors.
In the summer when day light last longer, I feel I can get away with muted colours. Come late fall/winter here in Canada I use a high visibility yellow Assos jacket.
