  1. Unless he is training for cyclecross, otherwise this is 1000% stupid, you don't be able to go fast enough to have any benefit! the risk of crashing is 99.999% somewhere along the way!

  2. Say that when you go down and do your collarbone. 🙄
I’ve known several lads over the years who’ve tried to be heroes and ride in freezing conditions.
When they’ve fallen off they’ve been “lucky” enough to just damage their bike, clothing and pride. Although one did his collarbone and another developed a frozen shoulder which ruled him out for months.
You aren’t cool for riding around in slippery conditions.
There’s never been a better time to ride indoors with the likes of Zwift etc.

  3. No doubt you can dress and gear up for winter riding (I do that, too) – but, I still don't think most pros would do much more than low-intensity/recovery rides. Would you do sprints or intervals when you're not sure that your back wheel slips under power or you have a to take a turn faster than you normally would?

  4. Just came home from 45km in -9 C, riding my crossbike, gravel roads and tarmac, 50/50. Some snow, some ice. I´d guess this fellow here had a sudden snowfall with no ice under, that can be done.. Rgr

  5. When I was still living in Denmark I have been riding in snow hundreds of times to get my training, get to school, get to work, get to the university or to get back home. Yes, every year I hit the ground hard (some year several times), but almost always in control. I have never ever broken anything.
And when your wheel slide, so do you, and apart from a few bruises and ruined clothing, you will get up and continue your ride.
    No big deal !
