Days 241-243. 72km (91869kms 8yrs)
It was far from an ideal camp, a tractor did go by in the night, but up on the embankment I hoped I would still go unnoticed.
I drank almost warm enough coffee as I discovered in finishing one gas can that Iโd bough a type Iโd.never cone across before; with the same circular metal attachment, but this one didnโt have the screw fitting required by not stove. I hope decathlon will exchange it for me.
In the cute town of Gyรถngyรถs I received word from my host that I would need to arrive an hour earlier than weโd organised, so after lunch with one of Hungaryโs marvelous statues on a bench I got a love on along the increasingly hilly eurovelo 14 to Eger.
The autumn colours are stunning right now, and particularly enjoyable when the road narrows or the bike route exits from the road into its own little golden tunnel of leaves.
In Eger host รdรกm was super kind in giving me a rest day to explore the town, and invited me to stay a day longer still so I could watch hi biketouring documentary which was screening at the local cinema. Itโs called Nincs visszaut (No way back) itโs 18 episodes I believe, and after the three I watched I was absolutely hooked though much of it was in Hungarian. Strongly recommend watching if you get the opportunity

Morning. Another good cozy night. Even though I can hear the traffic otherwise it was calm and still and warm enough here. But my coffee is not warm enough. I’ve just about been able to heat one cup. And I was trying to finish it off. But my new camping gas doesn’t have a screw in here where this one does. I’ve never I’ve never seen one like this before. I know there’s camping gases where you have to pierce the can, but I’ve never seen one that’s the shape I want without the little screw bit. So, I have to take that back to hopefully I’ll find a Decathlon and hopefully they’ll refund me or I can exchange it. How annoying. I’ve never seen anything like that before. Oh, it’s a synagogue. I’ve got a warm showers host tonight, which is exciting. But he’s just messaged to move my arrival time forward, so I’ve got to get a bit of a rush on now. [Applause] [Music] is absolutely gorgeous right now and I am enjoying that. This is possibly if not my last one of my last days with bare arms because winter is coming. 50 for one. Euro value 14 here. Double here. Onto the last climb of the day now. I think he warned me it would get hilly towards the end. Uh, and he wasn’t wrong, but I think I should still make it on time. See what a day cycling and litter picking gets me in this town. Almost a free chocolate bar. It would have been free, but it didn’t accept the score. Sunny, no I’m enjoying the last of these days in the autumn sunshine. Did you ever see a min with a cross on top? I’ll go through. My host Adam is a filmmaker and he’s made a documentary about bike touring which we’re on our way to go see now. How exciting. [Music]

You can get adapters to be able to use the "clic" cartridges on your stove. Same for the pierce cartridges. Allegedly there are still countries where its difficult to get the threaded ones.
