It was in there somewhere and sprang out as I unfolded my new C-Line for the first time. Is it part of the packaging or something that needs to be stuck in place? It has an adhesive on the reverse.
Same thing happened to me. I assumed it’s a protector for the frame where the folding hook from the first third of the bike sits.
But I’m new to this so take my answer with a heap of salt. Hopefully someone more informed will answer soon!

Yes it is to protect where the hook of the front wheel goes on to the back frame. Mine is also loose

The others are correct, it’s just there to protect the frame during transit, according to Brompton. That’s why only a simple double sided tape is used. There are lots of aftermarket options for you to check out, should you wish to keep that part protected.
