Shaving almost a pound off my utility basket bike: There aren't a lot of choices when it comes to off the shelf alloy moto bars with decent rise. I didn't see these Cannondale Cruise Control bars when I went looking for aluminum moto bars, only the Origin 8 sendy bars, which are as far as I can tell just rebranded motorcycle bars with their heavy, thick gauge tubing. So there wasn't much point buying them when I had some actual motorcycle bars hanging around in the garage. 22.2 bars would look silly (I thought) with almost 10mm shims in a 31.8 stem, so chunky BMX stem in was. This is a bike that I need to manhandle around and carry up stairs, and I eventually admitted it could really lose a little weight. So, when I found the Cannondale bars in bicycle gauge tubing I bought some, and decided to do a weight check before building the bike back up. In hindsight, steel moto bars like the Surly are actually lighter than actual motorcycle bars.

OMG, that top bar is so thick, that had to hurt a little bit to ride anything rougher than a basketball court.
