This is a pleasant ride doing a loop of the New Forest in Hampshire, England.
I wanted to see what it would be like to take this on a train in preparation for away camping tours in the future.

[Music] Good morning. Car’s in for service, so I’m going to go on a little jaunt around New Forest today. Catching the train in a minute. Going on my turn folding bike. [Music] After a bit of refreshment, I’ve escaped Brokenhurst and I’m going down the first country lane. I’ll be heading to Bucklasard via Buy doing a loop around the outside of the forest. Nice little route. The first category bouncy. There we go. on a nice track now through the forest. One of the new forest cycle trails. I’ve got my coat on now. We’ve been having a really hot May, but uh Oh, there’s the sunshine. That’s the first time he’s come out this morning. I put my coat on cuz it turns so cold. Sun keeps coming out and going in. Warming up a bit though. Don’t go that way. Go that way. Just leaving this bit of the forest which apparently is called Ranswood. some of the locals. Right, we’re on to a bit of road now. Nearly in beauty. I forgot to bring my helmet mount today, which is a bit annoying. So, I’ve rigged this up. [Applause] So, see how good it is. Great. Hello. [Music] Heat. Oh dear. So busy looking at the views around me. I’ve taken the wrong road and now the wrong side of the river. My blue trail is is the one I’ve done. And I should be on the pink trail. Wrong side of the river. Hey ho. Okay, back then. Oh, we’re back on track now. Going through beauty. on the way to Butler’s hard now. [Music] [Music] [Music] This is where they built Nelson ships. summer than any before. So this is my turn folding bike. It’s um 27 gears, nine derailia and three on the hub. You can carry paniers, full touring kit, and that’s why I bought it. So today’s just a a trip on the train to try it out, see what it’s like lugging it about. It’s quite heavy. It’s about 18 kilos as you see it there. It’s about the same weight as the Brmpton Gite. I think that might be a fraction lighter, but it goes well. Climbs hills. Very low gear, nice high gear. So, it’s got dynamo lighting from the hub on the front wheel, disc brakes, and it’s called the Verge Tour. There’s the DAS. It normally comes with a front rack. I’ve removed that cuz I don’t tend to use front panas as well. I bought it as a used bike and it already had the front bag on it and it also had the lock which you can see there. It also has the big apple tires which are over 2 in wide. I’ve been using them on gravel and shingle today. They’ve been fine. I think it’s now time to go and find somewhere to eat. Back up above the village, there’s a cafe. [Music] That’s half the loop done. Now back to the station. Catch the train home. It’s the second half of the loop. And pretty countryside all the way, I hope. [Music] No idea what this is, but it looks massive. Looks like a huge tide barn. Almost like something to do with an abbey. That’s what it is. St. Leonard’s Barn. Nice view. Kind of white over there. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Not bad. [Music] [Music] Ooh. That’s as close as I can get. You were on your own here. You’re a bit lonely. It’s nice spot though, isn’t it? Bye-bye then. I’m going now. Bye-bye. [Music] After that cold start this morning, it’s turned really hot this afternoon. Somewhere in the 20s, I guess. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. That was really busy on the train. Lots of bikes. So, I’m glad I had the foldy. Now, it’s time to go home.

Nice. I've done some of that on a Brompton but will be taking my Tern next time for the gravel paths. It is lovely there.
What model is it? I used to collect the mail from Brockenhurst station back in the 70's when I worked at Lymington post office
