Motobecane Strada Express 1BY ($577): https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/motobecane/flat-bar-road-bikes/strada-express-1by-commuter-flatbar-road.htm#gsize

For casual riding for now. Do you think the Motobecane bikes will be decent for the price? Or is the Surly worth the extra money? Also do you think it's worth it paying more for a steel frame? Thanks

  1. How tall/big are you? How hilly is it where you live? What do you plan to use this for? Honestly, for first bikes, I encourage people to shop for something used. Especially if there is a Community Bike Project where you live. After you’ve ridden 1000km or 600 miles you’re in a much better position to know what you need/want.
